To mark the start of 'Children’s Mental Health Week', HRH The Duchess of Cambridge has sent a message of support encouraging children and parents to find ways to share their thoughts and feelings, particularly during such a challenging time.
During the video message, The Duchess highlights the importance of parents and carers looking after their own mental wellbeing, and the impact that this has on the children in their care.
The theme for this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is ‘Express Yourself’ and focuses on the creative ways children and adults can share feelings, thoughts or ideas through art, music, writing, poetry, dance, drama, photography and film, or just doing activities that make them feel good.

As a proud church school, we know the importance of prayer in our lives. In an open letter, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York invite everyone across the country - whether they have faith or not - to pause, reflect on the pandemic, and to pray.
The Archbishops give thanks for NHS and social care staff, who they describe as “a blessing and lifeline for our nation”; for clergy; other frontline workers; and “so many good neighbours”. They give thanks for the development of vaccines and reiterate a call to everyone to take the vaccine when it is offered.
They also urge people to support each other both by following the guidelines to limit the spread of the virus, and in practical ways, reaching out in care and kindness.

School was awash with cheerfully-festive clothing on Friday 11th December as we celebrated Christmas Jumper Day.
Hats, antlers, tinsel...and more, helped to accessorise the Christmas-themed non-uniform day which was full of smiles and joy.
We even welcomed the most in-demand visitor at this time of year! Ho Ho Ho.
Merry Christmas.

Excitement was everywhere in school today as we welcomed a very special visitor!
Santa Claus came to town, with a bag full of presents for all of the children which had been wrapped and then quarantined for at least 72 hours. He is working in a somewhat different way in school this year!
Thank you to all who helped to arrange for such an exciting guest!

Despite being unable to hold our lovely Christmas Fayre in the usual way due to the current pandemic, your wonderful PTA are very pleased to let you know that they will still be holding a Christmas raffle, offering you a chance to win a wonderful festive treat. Through some very kind donations, we have managed to secure a lovely Christmas hamper, containing lots of food and drink goodies, and also a number of other prizes.

On Friday 13th November, we raised a brilliant £155.85 for the wonderful 'Children in Need' organisation.
Children came to school in non-uniform, with lots of spotty, or Pudsey-inspired clothing brightening up each classroom. Children also enjoyed completing Pudsey-themed work.
Thank you to everyone for your kind support, especially at such a challenging time.
...love one another.

In school, we celebrated the very special event of Armistice Day through buying poppies, completing activities remembering the brave men, women and animals who were lost in conflict, and talking about what the day means and why we mark it.
Through our online assembly, we shared prayers, read a poem, showed our learning about Armistice Day, and before we observed two minutes of silence, Sofia, Callum and Maggie read out the names of the brave men from our village who fell due to World War I.
Despite these unusual times, it is important that as a school, community, Parish and nation, we always remember the fallen, and also see that we can (and will) come through times of adversity.

Many, many thanks to all who were able to donate goods towards our Harvest this year.
The food will help lots of local families here in our community and other local families through the Food Bank. This help is especially important during this time of uncertainty and as Christmas approaches.
A lovely gesture which will make a difference to the lives of others.
...love God, love one another.
