Peace and Friendship.

Peace and Friendship.

The thoughts of the school and TMPF family are sent to all affected by the current conflict in Ukraine.

In school, we pray for – and talk about the importance of - peace and love, and we hope that this conflict can reach a swift and safe resolution and that the communities of the different nations can live and share God’s world in harmony.

As a school, our particular thoughts and prayers are sent to the children of Ukraine and those who either remain in the country, or have become refugees and been warmly welcomed by other nations in an act of care and love. We send our love to them and their family members and friends across the world.

We pray that world leaders can work together to reunite families and help all of the innocent people impacted on by this conflict, and return happiness and safety into their lives.

We live in hope and with faith that good and peace will prevail.

God Bless.

A Prayer for Ukraine.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice,
We pray for the people of Ukraine today,
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons,
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
That your spirit of comfort would draw near to them,
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
For wisdom, discernment and compassion
To guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
That you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

Amen

"We Will Remember Them"

On Thursday 11th November, Classes 2 and 3 joined with members of our local community at Dilhorne Cenotaph in a service of Remembrance. Pupils shared a poem written by one of our year 6 pupils, laid wreaths and read out the names of those brave men from Dilhorne who gave their lives.

Keith Hollins

Keith Hollins

It is with sadness that we learnt of the passing of Keith Hollins, former Headteacher and Executive Principal of The Cheadle Academy and Westwood College (amongst others), and CEO of the Staffordshire University Academies Trust.

Keith kindly offered advice and support as we formed The Moorlands Primary Federation and through his co-founding of the South Moorlands Schools Learning Community, created many positive opportunities for schools throughout our area.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

New Smiles for the New School Year

We are happy to start the new school year with some new smiles!

Although we were sad to see some of our pupils leave us in the summer and head off for new adventures, we are happy to welcome our new superstars, who have joined all of the other superstars here at Dilhorne Endowed C.E. Primary.

Fun at the Fayre

We were delighted to welcome members of the community and Parish to our Autumn Fayre and Open Day.

Organised by the wonderful PTFA, the fayre offered opportunities for visitors to meet the school team, take-in some refreshments, show-off their dogs, and enjoy a range of entertainment. One stall even had to re-stock as sales were so high!

Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form provided a dance performance and local singer, Becki Jones performed solo and also alongside some of the children. The event featured the popular ‘Dilhorne Endowed C.E. Primary Dog Show’ which offered six classes, a ‘doggy derby’ and also an award for ‘Best in Show’. Fulford & District Community First Responders attended with their specially-fitted vehicle and demonstrated first aid: something they hope to offer to the children in school in the future.

Our school animals (including goats, ducks, chickens and two piglets) also welcomed the visitors!

Come and Join our Fayre

On Saturday 25th September, we are welcoming friends, members of the community, and those wishing to find out more about our school, to join us for our 'Autumn Fayre and Open Day' from 11.00am-3.00pm.

The day will be fun-filled and exciting with many stalls, special guests, entertainment and refreshments, and you are most warmly welcome. Those thinking about which school to choose for your child can also meet with the staff to talk about life at Dilhorne Endowed C.E. Primary.

...and, as we are a farm school, you can come and meet our animals too!

Big Weekend of Jabs for Staffordshire

Big Weekend of Jabs for Staffordshire

People in Staffordshire are being encouraged to get their Covid-19 vaccine during a Big Weekend of walk-in vaccinations.

The national NHS push to get as many people as possible vaccinated against Covid-19 will take place from Saturday 26 to Monday 28 June at various sites across Staffordshire.

All sites will be offering first doses to people aged 18 or over without the need to book an appointment.

Some sites will also offer second doses to people over 40, health and care workers, unpaid carers and people at higher clinical risk, from eight weeks after their first dose.

Cabinet Support Member for Public Health and Integrated Care, Dr Johnny McMahon, urged all adults who haven’t received their vaccine to take full advantage of the walk-ins.

Johnny said:

“Whatever big plans people may have this weekend, I’d urge anybody eligible and still waiting to get their vaccine to take advantage of the NHS Big Weekend. This is an absolutely fantastic opportunity to speed up the vaccination programme in Staffordshire and get more adults their first dose, and get eligible groups fully vaccinated.

"The sooner everyone is vaccinated the sooner we can begin to look to a future where we can live with this virus without the need for restrictions on our lives and freedoms."

Vaccination sites will include Stafford’s Kingston Centre, the Pirelli Stadium in Burton-on-Trent, Whitemoor Lakes in Lichfield and a number of GP practices and other sites.

A full list of the walk-in Staffordshire sites, dates and times can be found on the NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU website.

The NHS have a tool on their website to help people find their nearest walk-in vaccination site.

Anyone who has already booked an appointment for a first or second jab should stick with the appointment. People can also book an appointment through the national booking system online or by calling 119.

Look who's waiting for you!

Five new chicks arrived last week and are waiting for all our pupils to return to school to pick their names. They are very cute, but also very noisy, and are currently staying in Mr Broome's classroom to keep him entertained!
