Sports and the Performing Arts

At Bishop Rawle C.E. Primary School, we are proud of all of the children and provide lots of opportunities for them. The staff team offer children a number of valuable experiences.

The dedication of the staff means that so many of these opportunities are presented to children outside of school hours.

CADSSA

Cheadle And District School Sports Association (CADSSA)

CADSSA is an organisation of 13 primary schools who provide opportunities for children to meet and participate in competitive sport.

A programme of ten different sports (athletics, cricket, cross-country, football, gymnastics, netball, rounders, swimming, tag rugby and tennis) is provided, to offer children the chance to represent their school, develop their skills in competition and also to make friends.

We are always very proud of the sporting behaviour shown by our pupils when representing their school and they always participate in events with a lovely attitude.

Dance

Dancers at Bishop Rawle C.E. Primary School have the chance to perform in a show throughout the school year, hosted by our sister school, St. Werburgh's C.E. Primary.

Cluster Sports (PLT)

As part of a school sport cluster, Bishop Rawle C.E. Primary School offer a programme of sporting opportunities for children to play against (and with) pupils from local schools with whom they will go to High School.

These events are designed to give children chances to represent their school, learn new skills and also to make friends ahead of transition to High School. The programme offers a diverse range of sports to allow children a taster of something a little different.

Events have included: archery, tri-golf, dodgeball, netball, multi-skills, speed-stacking, cricket, football, tag rugby, athletics and also some disciplines from Paralympic Sports. At the time of major international sporting events, each school will also adopt the nationality of another country and play on their behalf to raise awareness of and appreciation for our global society!

Led by The Cheadle Academy, our Cluster Sports events involve children from Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6!

In the summer term, we come together to celebrate the successes of the year with a very special 'Sports Awards Evening' which is almost as big as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year...almost!

TMPF Sports

As part of The Moorlands Primary Federation (TMPF), children get the chance to build friendships, develop skills and enjoy wonderful experiences with pupils in their sister schools.
